The Adena Warriors will be participating in the Mannino's Grand Slam USA Winter Hitting/Pitching league starting January 12, 2019. This is a great opportunity for our Winter Warriors to get live reps prior to going into the spring season. Here's more information about the league:
The Live Pitching/ Hitting League provides the pitcher, catcher and batter with a live-game situation without the mess of the whole team Each week teams compete in a seven inning game (or hour and 30 minute time limit) with an umpire. Pitchers will be on pitch counts early and will be monitored closely. The first two weeks pitchers will only be able to throw fastballs and change-ups. A game will consist of 28 batters faced so we encourage each team to have a minimum of three pitchers per game.
Four players bat every inning and points are awarded for each position: catcher, pitcher and batter. For example, line-drives hit into designated area of the net, strike outs, walks, passed balls and dropped third strikes. At the end of the lasting inning, the team with the most points wins.
The Live Pitching/ Hitting League creates a situation where a player can practice under “Semi-pressure” situations. Seven at-bats per game against a live pitcher and umpire….What’s more important than that?
Each team should consist of 4-6 players that must include 3 pitchers and a catcher. Only four players will hit per inning.
All games are played at Mannino's Grand Slam USA located at 6635 Dublin Center Dr. Dublin OH 43017
